Increase in Young Women Diagnosed

10th December 2007

A new study published in The Breast Journal (Nov. 2007) showed that incidence of breast cancer in women younger than 40 years increased regularly by 0.65% per year between 1983 and 2002 in France. Even though young women did not experience a major change in diagnostic practices such as the development of screening among women aged 50-74. Further research is needed to identify the possible causes (most likely related to lifestyle and environment) of this increase.
